The new complex for the municipality in Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania, was inaugurated a few months ago: an innovative and representative tower structure. It consists of a unitary complex which represents the new social and economic development of the country and which is to become the centre of all the administrative functions.
The Municipal Centre covers 15.060 m and consists of a 21- storey tower (78,85 m high) and two adjacent three and five-storey buildings which are at disposal of the over 1000 employees of the municipal administration.
During the planning and the realization stages a great attention was paid to the efficiency and functionality of the new complex.
The structural peculiarity of the tower lies in the ability of the designers (A.E. Paslaitis, T. Balciunas, G. Paslaitis, P. Kijauskas, A. Paslaitis), together with the building firms, (Loro e Constructus) to realize an architecture based on elementary but extremely effective technologies.
The expressive minimalism is heightened by the choice of materials: the brightness of the pre-painted aluminium which covers the panels is matched with the shine of the glass façades.

Novelis Italia produced Windy, the pre-painted aluminium bended in cassettes (polyamide paint, EN AW-5005 alloy) for the realization of the façade.
The passive ventilation façade permits to control the thermal dissipations during winter and to avoid summer superheating.
