The congress “Project, Technology and Materials – Make innovations with Alumium” which took place on 11^th October 2007 at Politecnico of Milan, has been the opportunity to present the Students Award “Aluminium/Innovation” organized by B.E.S.T. Dpt. of Politecnico of Milan together with Novelis Italia, in cooperation with ALMECO.


Contents
The aim of the competition is to highlight and reward the best architectural solutions characterized by the innovative use of rolled aluminium.
Already implemented or under development projects will be eligible.
The projects must provide innovative solutions for the use of rolled aluminium (building systems, technological solutions, treatments and finishing).

Competitors
All the students enrolled in any Italian university at the architectural class 4 and 4S (Lauree triennali and Lauree Specialistiche in Architecture and Building Engineering/Architecture) will be eligible to participate.

Awards
The following prizes will be awarded:
1^st prize: 2.000 euros
2^nd prize: 1.000 euros
3^rd prize: 500 euros

Participation
The competition is open to all those projects prepared during a course or a workshop co-ordinated by a university lecturer, or within a degree thesis or on the autonomous initiative of the students.
To participate to the competition, the students must fill in the special form available on the website www.polimi.it/borse_studio , and send it to the e-mail address best.premionovelis@polimi.it within the expiry date of the award.

The entry form must also be sent by mail or delivered directly by hand to the Secretariat of the Department Director B.E.S.T. no later than 3 pm on 15th September 2008.
Entries can be sent by recorded delivery with advice of delivery and reference shall be made within the date of dispatch.
Submissions must also include the following documentation in paper format and cd:
The envelope with the entry form and the required papers must be addressed to "Al Direttore del Dipartimento B.E.S.T. - Politecnico di Milano - Via Bonardi, 3 20133 MILANO: "Premio Novelis: Alluminio/Innovazione"".

Prize-giving cerimony
The projects will be exhibited in October 2008 and the winners will present the results of their work to the public during the prize-giving ceremony.
The organisers reserve the right to publish the works received.
