Watersaving In-Line Cleaning Process

By means of an environmentally friendly cascade technology, the aluminium coils are cleaned by removing dirt, oil and oxydes. This most efficient process, which transports the coil through various basins in the direction opposite to the rinse water, saves water by precise dosage and re-use of excess water in other process parts.

Recycling is better than Disposing

Of course, most paint systems used by Novelis contain solvents on hydrocarbon base. However, these are almost completely extracted by suction during lacquer drying and thermically re-used, e.g. for annealing the paint layers, leading to a further improvement of the favourable energy balance of Novelis prepainted aluminium.
